MAII, with the help of a few good-hearted Christians and philanthropists, opened a Primary School in the city of Port-Margot, Hait in 1981.

At the time of the school`s opening, there were no other schools in the area.  The children who were fortunate enough to go to school had to travel hundreds of miles to attend class. The rest of the children were not lucky enough to even see a school.  Hopeless, many of these children became street vagabonds. Pastor Lucien understood that the only alternative to this miserable way of life was to introduce education.  In response, he opened the first school in Port-Margot under the Umbrella of the Church.  When it opened, the school served 316 children from grades 1 through 8.

The Primary School has been able to serve all those children who don’t have the opportunity or don't want to attend a school hundreds of miles from home. After the school opened, Rev. Lucien found that some of the surrounding communities had the same problem as Port-Margot. Thus, he decided to open two additional schools, one in Bas-Limbé and the other in Beaulieu.

He also realized that for a full transformation in the communities, he must do something for the adults, so he started a vocational program in the schools. Later, Rev. Lucien opened two more schools in Novion and Chouchoubé. Every year since its opening, the Primary school has grown as the number of students increase steadily year after year.

There are millions of children across the country who are underfed or homeless. They struggle just to survive. Your donation today will give them hope for the future.
