In 2001, MAII opened a secondary school (High School) in Port-Margot, a city in northern Haiti. In the first few years, the secondary school served 250 students between 8th and 10th grade. Due to space limitations, the school was unable to accept more students right away when it added 11th and 12th grades.  MAII's was the only secondary school in the community and nearly every student who graduated from the elementary school wanted to attend the high school because most of them could not afford private school.

In the years between 2004 and 2007, the MAII College Siloe was the only high school in the community of Port-Margot. It remains the largest school in the city.  Every year, the MAII Siloe students pass the examination administered by government, with an 80% to 90% success rate. The school has been upgraded to accommodate students from 9th to 13th grade. In 2004 and 2005, MAII enrolled more than 450 students in its high school facility. Starting in 2006, the MAII high school has been serving more than 650 students.  Still, the MAII College Siloe has many students on its waiting list.

While we are definitely making measurable progress on our school, we need your sustained contributions to help us complete our educational projects.  The secondary school helps students focus more on their future. We are always encouraging the students to take their education seriously, because we believe that education is the number one way to bid goodbye to poverty and to usher in a better day tomorrow. To reach this goal, MAII works closely with teachers, parents, and students to make progress toward a happy and prosperous life. We also work with other independent groups and individuals who work in the community to improve local living conditions and to offer poor children an opportunity to realize their dreams.

The MAII College Siloe of Port-Margot is providing its students with uniforms, backpacks, books, pens, pencils and various other school supplies.  Furthermore, we are committed to supporting these students holistically, including their physical and psychological needs as well.

MAII believes that, with good education, life can be healthier. We think that proper education is the best way to modify the circumstances of poverty in our world. Education keeps children off the street and out of danger.

How does MAII do what it does?

Only a generous person like you who believes in helping others can make our work a reality. If you agree that education is the primary catalyst in helping children seek a better life, you can make a difference through your contributions.

One major issue at the MAII College Siloe is that our building is yet not complete. Moreover, it is also too small. We have plans for an addition, but our financial situation does not currently allow us to move forward.

The MAII College Siloe is looking for all kinds of help to continue educating more students who wish to enroll in our program. MAII asks for your participation; not only for your financial contributions, but also for your hands.  Monetary contributions to Ministries of Aides International, Inc. are tax deductible.  You can also help us by networking and spreading the word with your family members, friends, employees and Church members.

College, university and church groups can also contribute to our work by participating in a short-term mission trip. The work will help us serve more children.

If you are aware of any students who are looking to enroll in our school, please refer them to Ministries of Aides International, Inc. or send us their contact information.

Don’t forget the MAII College Siloe!

We need your sustained support every year to run the school in full swing.  You can assist MAII by:

* Making a tax deductible contribution.
* Spreading the word about our organization and mission.
* Volunteering with Ministries of Aides International, Inc.
* Going to Haiti on a Mission Trip

We suggest that the best way to support our cause is to donate $250 to support a student for a year at the secondary school level.  We thank you for your generosity!
