What is the cost to sponsor a child?
The shortest answer is $30 per month. The long answer is $30 per month. Here’s how it all works. The cost of care for each child per month is $312.00. We understand that not everyone will be able to afford that kind of monthly payment. So, MAII has designed a structured program so that each child can have at least four ( 4) sponsors who will contribute $30 per month. It is a policy of MAII that 100 percent of your money goes directly to meeting the needs of a sponsored child. MAII provides him or her with food, clothing, shoes, education, medical treatment, housing costs, building maintenance, teacher salaries, and various orphanage upgrades.
The administrative cost of the program is covered by friends and generous individual donors who support our efforts. Additionally, we have many members of the Grace Tabernacle Church of God, Inc. who make financial donations or volunteer labor.

Is my participation in this program tax-deductible?
Yes! Ours is a 501(c)(3) organization. You will receive a receipt every January (for the previous year`s donations) to use it for tax purposes.
How often will I receive updates on my child?
Ministries of Aides International provides you with information and updates coupled with photograph of your sponsored child in its quarterly letters. These letters are sent to our patrons and sponsors in January, March, September and November. You will receive an annual “snail mail” update with the photo of the sponsored child and a copy of his/her report card in September, so that you can have an idea about the progress of your child’s studies in every academic school year.
Can I write letters to my child? Will he or she write me back?
Absolutely! Ministries of Aides International, Inc. would always encourage you to be in contact with your child. In fact, our children love getting mail! We also encourage you to send photos of your family and friends. And, yes, you will receive his or her response (however, it may take several months to receive these responses due to the time taken for translation and mail delays.) MAII works hard to ensure that you stay in touch with your child. You can also send an email to your child at :

I would prefer to pay one lump-sum amount annually, rather than monthly. Is that an option?
Yes. Ministries of Aides International Inc can set it up monthly, semi-annually, or annually. Many of our partners make two payments per year.
Can I send gifts to my child?
Yes, you can. As you can see above, part of our monthly budget for each child is meant for a birthday or Christmas fund. Because our children live in close proximity to one another, we try to organize gift-giving occasions with a certain amount of equity. We give each child a party on his or her birthday with cakes for everyone, homemade cards from “brothers and sisters” in the orphanage, and a small gift. On the occasion of the Christmas, we hold a similar party and each child gets 3 gifts: a pair of new shoes, one new church outfit and one toy.
Additionally, we arrange for an end-of-school party annually, to celebrate students' graduation to the next grade. We want these children to know that they are the valued members of the MAII family, and we believe that celebrating together teaches them an important lesson on how families function. If you would like to send gifts, we recommend send letters with flat gifts like stickers, paper dolls, photos, etc.
Finally, you are always welcome to send community gifts that can be shared by all of the children in the orphanage. Popular items include soccer balls, inflatable rafts for the beach, hair beads, elastics and snaps, and sewing material to make new church outfits. To pay for the customs and shipping (from our US address to Haiti), for all parcels sent, please include a check for $ 4.10 per pound made out to Ministries of Aides International Inc.
What happens if I am no longer financially able to sponsor my child?
We understand that the finances change. Please just let us know and we will work to find a new sponsor for your child, no questions asked.
What happens if I miss a payment?
Ministries of Aides International understands that there are times when things get a little tighter financially. However, we are counting on sponsorship commitments to meet your child’s needs. If for some reason you miss a payment, simply resume it by the next month. If you are able to make two payments at once the next month, that would be great. But if you cannot, that’s okay. Just pay in the following month. MAII believes our partners already know that the children of depend on their help---that is, your contribution.
